Sport England/Club Matters – Introduction to Safeguarding Adults Video
Safeguarding adults is everybody’s responsibility. If you are delivering physical activity and sport to adults, it is good practice to create, adopt and implement an adult safeguarding policy. You should also ensure all of your committee members, leaders, coaches, members and participants understand the foundations of implementing the policy and how to spot and act upon concerns. To help you, Club Matters have worked with the Ann Craft Trust to create this introductory video.
Adhering to a safeguarding policy doesn’t need to be a burden. The video gives you an insight into the fundamental things to look out for and be aware of. It will give you basic awareness of safeguarding adults, explores whether all clubs and delivery organisations need a safeguarding policy and help raise awareness of why adult safeguarding is such an important issue. By highlighting the differences between safeguarding adults and children, it clearly explains why holding two separate policies is best practice.
The video takes you through the key principles of Safeguarding Adults, including empowerment accountability and protection, as well as offering some top tips for dealing with a safeguarding issue.
Make sure to take a look at the links at the end of the video for more advice and information.
