SASSOT wants to steer you in the right direction and to access the right investment for your ideas and projects. We hope that this month’s instalment of the funding updates will help you to create a pathway to develop your opportunities.
Amount available: Up to £20,000
Deadline: Next deadline is 30th May with further deadlines proposed throughout 2019
Suitable for: Voluntary or community groups, registered charities, social enterprises, non-for-profit companies or companies limited by guarantee.
Description: Supported by the Staffordshire Community Foundation and the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire LEP, the European Social Fund are currently offering grants of up to £20,000 with a main focus to help more people access opportunities that will guide them into work. This includes addressing social exclusion and community needs, building employability skills and engaging with those who are considered hardest to reach.
Amount Available: Up to £250
Deadline: 15th May 2019
Suitable for: Charitable organisations
Description: The Warburton’s Trust are seeking to offer funding for up to £250 to support charitable organisations that require small grants to help them deliver on a broader activity. In order to make the best decisions for local communities, the funds are allocated to local bakeries and depots and will use your postcode to understand which of their sites are closest to you. They will then receive the application and make a decision.
Amount Available: £50,000-£150,000
Deadline: New investments available until June 2020
Suitable for: Community Clubs, Social Enterprises, Charities and profit-with-purpose businesses
Description: Sporting Capital invests in organisations that make a difference through sport. The loan funding will be used to help organisations develop new projects, operations and revenue streams. Our goal is to help develop more sustainable community sports organisations.
At Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, we want to celebrate the successes of local clubs, groups, charities and individuals in receiving funding for worth-while causes.

Tip of the Month!
Make sure you clearly identify the outcomes!
Most funders will have specific outcomes which they expect projects to achieve during the funding period. If you’re project doesn’t focus in on these outcomes, it’s very unlikely that you will be successful!
The ability to demonstrate your project’s outcomes before applying is a significant part of the planning process and knowing clearly what your programme is aiming to achieve will definitely steer you in the right direction to monitor and evaluate against your targets.
Therefore, make sure you take some time to plan the programme effectively and concisely in order to identify your programme objectives.
Remember: fail to prepare, prepare to fail!
