Are you a Coach or Volunteer in Staffordshire? – Get in touch!

Thursday 17th May 2018

Here at SASSOT we are looking for coaches and volunteers within the Staffordshire area. This is a part of Volunteering week on 1st-7th June and Coaching week on 4th-10th June.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for stories that showcase the power of coaching in sport and physical activity. We’d like to highlight the diverse range of coaching activities that people can get involved in and that coaching in sport doesn’t just have to be for the sporty.

An amazing 3.1 million people have delivered some kind of sport and physical activity coaching session in the last 12 months. However, currently the people coaching does not reflect the diversity of society. Sport England’s Coaching Strategy is focused therefore on not just increasing the number of people who are coaching but also the diversity of people giving their time. Our Active Lives survey shows that people on lower incomes and from BAME communities are less likely to be coaching in sport and physical activity and we would be particularly interested in case studies from these groups.

How will the information be used?

Case studies will be used in a variety of ways including newspapers, newsletters, websites, publications, social media radio or on TV.  They will also be given to Sport England for their use.
