Who We Are

Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent (SASSOT) is a network of local agencies committed to working together to increase the number of people taking part in physical activity and sport. We are part of an England-wide network of 43 Active Partnerships and are currently funded by Sport England, along with our Local Authorities and Universities.

Our Strategy

Our Strategy was launched in April 2018 and identifies four strategic priorities, under four key themes:

SASSOT’s PMIF/Quest assessment

SASSOT recently went through an external PMIF/Quest assessment.  We are proud to say that we achieved a ‘Good’ rating across all areas.

PMIF (or the Performance Management and Improvement Framework, to give it its full name) is Sport England’s version of Quest for County Sports Partnerships, and is their new way of measuring the effectiveness of Active Partnerships.

The two-day assessment took place on 17th to 18th December, and was the culmination of a lot of self-assessment and evidence gathering both from within the team and Board, and with a wide range of our partners.  The SASSOT Board and Staff Team believe this is a fair reflection of where we are at, at this point in time, and recognises how far we’ve travelled as an organisation since the launch of our new strategy and the restructure of our team and Board last year.

As with any process of this kind, various strengths and areas for improvement were identified by the assessor, and overall these echoed what we’d already identified during the initial self-assessment process.  Please find these areas within the report below.
