Volunteer Assistant Disability Coach Needed
Location – King Edwards Leisure Centre – WS14 9DE
Days – Fortnightly Thursdays
Time – 5pm – 7pm assistant
The volunteer is required to provide support for young people with a range of disabilities and help assist the coach with delivering the session.
From the start of the session the volunteer will need help with the preparation and set up of the session.
Providing support for the coach and young people throughout the whole session. Part of the role the volunteer will need to take part in the activities; this will mean showing signs of positive interaction and communication, working with the young people whether this will be individually or within a group.
The person will need to be 16+ and someone who enjoys spending time and working with young disabled people, be able to adapt with the age group from 5-17 year olds, and be comfortable and confident to work with these ages. To be a reliable individual for the coach and for the young people demonstrating good communication and shows signs of motivation and encouragement to help with the development of the child.
Supervision will be given throughout the session by the coach, providing support and guidance to help with development.
